I will showcase my children’s novel ‘Kit and the Calico Cat’ during Friday’s book launch from 7 to 8pm, and copies will be available on Friday and Saturday.

Talented young artist Haylee Boone is in the Young Artist Spotlight for November, and her show will include an original illustration from ‘Kit and the Calico Cat’. Copies of ‘Kit and the Calico Cat’ will be available during the evening reception and both Haylee and author Brigitte Marsden will be on hand to sign them.

Fun for all the family! Themed rock painting based on children’s adventure story ‘Kit and the Calico Cat’ by author and illustrator Brigitte Marsden. Please wear clothing suitable for painting!

Please bring one or two clean, dry rocks per person: rocks should be at least as big as a computer mouse and no bigger than a child can hold in both hands.

There is no charge for this event.

This celebration of New Brunswick publishing and book cover design, part of the new Word Feast literary festival, will continue its journey down the Saint John River Valley, moving to the provincial capital mid-September .

The Book Cover Art & Design Show features the art and design of book covers by regional graphic artists and publishers.

It also features illustrations created by 12 year old Haylee Boone for author Brigitte Marsden’s children’s book Kit and the Calico Cat.

A selection of books illustrating the design and production characteristics of letter-press, photo-offset, and digital printing round out the show.

This show  will feature the art and design of book covers by New Brunswick graphic artists and publishers. The show will also include the original cover art created by author Brigitte Marsden for her children’s book Kit and the Calico Cat,  together with sample illustrations by 12 year old Haylee Boone.
