This show  will feature the art and design of book covers by New Brunswick graphic artists and publishers. The show will also include the original cover art created by author Brigitte Marsden for her children's book Kit and the Calico Cat,  together with sample illustrations by 12 year old Haylee Boone. Brigitte will be reading from her novel for young readers, 'Kit and the Calico Cat', and author and publisher Paul McAllister will read stories from his Herman Monster picture books. A Word Feast event.

This celebration of New Brunswick publishing and book cover design, part of the new Word Feast literary festival, will continue its journey down the Saint John River Valley, moving to the provincial capital mid-September .

Please bring one or two clean, dry rocks per person: rocks should be at least as big as a computer mouse and no bigger than a child can hold in both hands.

I will showcase my children's novel 'Kit and the Calico Cat' during Friday's book launch from 7 to 8pm, and copies will be available on Friday and Saturday.

Talented young artist Haylee Boone is in the Young Artist Spotlight for November, and her show will include an original illustration from 'Kit and the Calico Cat'. Copies of 'Kit and the Calico Cat' will be available during the evening reception and both Haylee and author Brigitte Marsden will be on hand to sign them.

Writers Federation of New Brunswick WordSpring includes workshops, author readings and a literary soiree. Brigitte Marsden will launch 'Kit and the Calico Cat' Friday evening, and will have copies available during the weekend.

The graphic novel project I did with the students of 4-5K-IF at Meduxnekeag Consolidated School last fall is in the Young Artist Spotlight at Creek Village Gallery & Cafe. The opening reception for the Artist of the Month and Young Artist Spotlight on Saturday March 16th provides an opportunity to meet myself, Mme Kennedy and students from her class, learn more about this unique project and see the original artwork for students' short stories inspired by my children's adventure story, 'Kit and the Calico Cat'.

Working with Kristal Hopkins' grade 5 Intensive French class to create a graphic novel in French.

Working with grade 6, 5 and 2 Intensive French students to write a chapter book, add songs and rhymes and illustrate the book.

An all day author visit through WiSP (Writers in Schools program) - my first to a school in Fredericton 🙂

An afternoon of family-friendly literary fun, starting with author readings from children's novel 'Kit and the Calico' Cat. The fun continues with Dr Ruby's Travelling Puppet Show. Enjoy an original play inspired by European folklore presented by hand carved marionnettes. All are welcome to this free event.
